What fun our 2 grandaughters had at the Festival
(aged 4 & 6). Extremely well organized and great value for money.
Please let's have some more of the same next year. Well done!!!!
Bridgnorth resident.
Many congratulations on such a splendid day!
Superbly organised, so much to see and do and in such pleasant and spacious
surroundings. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and of course the weather
was the icing on the cake.
It was such a treat too to go somewhere like that and find all the amenities
being offered at such moderate rates.
I do hope that you will be able to hold it next year. I only wish that I had
known about it earlier and could have put it in our village magazine. However
I shall write an article in the next edition and will certainly advertise it
next year.
Many thanks again - Sue DM, Neen Savage
I’m writing to thank everyone involved in organizing and running this
weekend’s Children’s Festival. On Saturday we spent the whole day
with our daughter Millie, who is 3, enjoying the fantastic array of activities,
rides, shows and events. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, never got stuck
for things to do and literally had to coax Millie away at the end of the day
as she had so much fun. As any parent knows, happy kids equals happy parents
and we all came home shattered, tanned and happy!! Sunday morning Millie was
up bright and early and the first words from her mouth? “Can we go back
to the Festival today please, I want to play a drum!!!!” So we packed
the sun cream and sun hats and set off for Bridgnorth again!! With so much
to do we had a second exciting day and saw more shows and displays we didn’t
have time for on Saturday, made loads more craft items and had another brilliant
full day of fun!
I’d like to thank all the organisers for a professional,
well planned and well run event. All of the volunteers and staff on the day
were so friendly
and helpful and the entertainers were fantastic. Everyone was great but Millie
particularly enjoyed the Crazy Dutch Band with their interactive music show,
the trampolines and the craft tent.
We try to do lots of things with Millie
so have been to loads of events with her but never anywhere as fun packed,
friendly and enjoyable for us all as
this. We are used to having to pay up to £50 for a day out that comes
nowhere near to this Festival so a huge bonus was how little it cost. Where
else can you have 2 days full of fun and activities and spend less than £20
including food and drinks ? Some of these so-called professionally organized
fun-days should learn a thing or two from you!!! We didn’t even have
to queue to get in or out, such was the planning and organisation, unheard
of on Bank holiday weekend !!!
On a personal note, I’ve had my leg in
plaster since June following an accident and have been struggling to find things
that we can do as a family
given my limited access and mobility. We had no problems here, everyone was
so helpful and accommodating, one Organizer even fixed my wheelchair for me
when the wheel fell off !!!! Thank you so much !
Millie can’t wait for
next year, we hope you have enough energy to organise the festival again and
look forward to bringing our friends and families for
another great 2 days. Thank you Mr Derges and team ! Kev, Shell and Millie,
Wombourne
We attended the Festival for both days, travelling down with my 3 year old
granddaughter from Lancashire. We had a great weekend, and spent the whole
two days there from midday to closing on both days. The wide range of entertainment
and activity meant that there was no opportunity for boredom, and the low cost
of nearly all the activities, and those that were free, helped not to restrict
the amount of hours spent there.
If there is a Festival next year, I would hope that my other grandchildren
could visit, and share the enjoyment we had. I would also like to arrange
for the children from the homeless families unit that I manage to also be
able
to attend, as an organised trip on one or both days.
We camped at the Halfway House, so had a good walk to and from the Festival.
Camping on the site would be fantastic, if possible????
The other events going on in Bridgnorth over the weekend further enhanced
our visit, and watching the outdoor performance of the 'Sturgeon Moon' in
Severn
Park on Saturday night completed our weekend. For those coming from a distance,
it is really good to have a weekend packed with events so from our point
of view, the timing of the Festival is great.

Many thanks for a wonderful day at the Children’s
Festival, it was our first visit this year after being told numerous times
about how good it had been last year. A group of our friends decided to join
us and we all had a fantastic time. Thank you for all the hard work put in
by all the volunteers to make the day so enjoyable for all the children.
Hopefully we will see you all again next year, yours Jayne
Congratulations to all involved in the Festival, we
all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, we arrived at 11am expecting to be there
for 3 to 4 hours and ended
up stopping until 7pm!
The kids enjoyed the chance to spin plates, make garlands,
bang the drum's, make dinosaurs and make their own juggling balls, in between
taking in shows
from Flip the Clown, Brum & Dudley and the Magician, and then jumping
around until exhausted on the inflatables.
We stopped for lunch, enjoyed an ice cream desert and couldn't resist the hog
roast at the end too.
Again congratulations to all involved, the event was
well organized, with a wealth of things to do, watch and enjoy all day
through. Hope you're doing it again next year; it's in our diary already.

Aimee and Simon from Newport Hi Stephen
I attended the festival on Sunday didn’t arrive till late
(2 ish) and should have got there when in started but what was going on was
good. I travelled
from Wellington in Telford with my 2 children of 11 and 9. On the feedback
point of view maybe a few more direction signs from A442 as had no idea where
the school was.
Parking was good. Probably a bit disheartening for the evening
stuff that people started to drift away, from my point of view my children
who were that
bit older lost interest once the dutch group came on. They liked Frontline
thoughJ Have told friends about it and think they would be interested to go
next year. Got some useful to contacts to maybe use within my Brownie and Guide
groups. The subsidy of activities was really appreciated because a day out
these days can cost a small fortune. Yes well done to you all Regards, Jenny
We came on Sunday and stayed all day including the evening
entertainment. We would like to say a big thank you for all your hard work
in such a well
organised event and let you all know what a fantastic time we had. My two boys,
aged 3 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed their day and as most activities were free
or for a small amount, we found it great value entertainment. We stayed for
about 8 hours and spent less than £10! Excellent range of activities!!
Looking forward to next year's event, we travelled from Stourport and will
definitely return. I am a teacher in a primary school and will certainly encourage
the
pupils in my school to attend next year with their families. Sarah
I am writing to say what a fantastic time we had at the Bridgnorth Children's
festival. We travelled from Bewdley so were more than pleased that the day
was a great success.
The event was very well organised and safety aspects were very well covered.
It was a chance for the children to play whilst adults could picnic or relax
safe in the knowledge that their children were safe. It was also easy on the
pocket, an aspect a lot of families have to take into consideration when planning
a day out.
One suggestion for next year might be more craft stalls, but I know the orgnisation
of such an event is a mammoth task especially as funding also has to be found.
Anyway, congratulations on a very successful event -
Mrs. RH,
Bewdley
Dear all,
What a fantastic event. My wife and I are from Bromsgrove, we brought our 18
month old son Jordy to the Saturday event and were very impressed.
I spoke to Ray Hulse the parking champion and he got onto his radio to speak
to a man named Mark about our positive comments. We just wanted to say for the
record that the entertainment provided was without doubt some of the best family
entertainment we had genuinely seen for a very
long time. The atmosphere was very friendly and the air was buzzing with the
excitement of young chldren everywhere. You really did go to town.
We initially found your event through the internet and were very impressed with
the PowerPoint as it showed you what to expect and was very informative. It
made you want to be there. Once we were there it made us feel like we wanted
to be children again.
On site you really have so mant talented people there. Please take the time advertise
your event for next year, people do not know what they are missing!!!
All the very best, Mr and Mrs TM and Jordy.
Hi
Just wanted to say what a fabulous event you staged today. We visited it
this afternoon planning only to stay a couple of hours as I wasn't expecting
much
but how wrong could I be! We came away wishing we had arrived a lot earlier
as there was so much we didn't have time for. My five year old daughter loved
all the things to make and draw in the craft tent and the bouncy castles, go
carts etc were fantastic value for money. I was impressed with the effort that
you put into having a separate contained toddler area and my 9 month old son
really looks forward to using that next year.
Disco Daddy kept the children
very well entertained and the only constructive criticism I can offer for
next year is that I didn't feel that your choice
of band - Frontline - was particularly suitable. We had been so impressed with
our afternoon that we were going to stay for the evening but after five minutes
of the band we departed. However, families with older children may feel differently....
So,
many thanks for a fantastic, value for money event which we look forward to
visiting for a much longer period next year. Louise
